I go to Paris, I go to London, I go to Rome, and I always say, “There’s no place like New York. It’s the most exciting city in the world now. That’s the way it is. That’s it.” - Robert De Niro.
If you have never been to New York City you're missing out. I believe that everybody should visit this city at least once in their lives. New York City has so much to offer. One can experience so many different cultures just by just turning a corner. It truly is a place for inspiration. But what would you want to see if you were in this exciting city for only a day?
There are definitely ways to see it all if you're up for the challenge. I would highly recommend doing a Big Bus Tour. They cover everything to see in the city and can be done within a day. Last time I was in New York, I did the Big Bus Tours and was able to see so much of the city within a short amount of time. It's a little hectic, but totally worth it. The buses take you all around the Downtown and Uptown areas. You can hop on and off at every stop, and catch a bus every 15 minutes.

There are way too many attractions to check out in New York City. Looking at a tourist map might make your head spin if you only have the weekend to explore. It comes down to really figuring out what sounds the most interesting to you. Some of my personal favorites have been the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the High Line, Statue of Liberty, Broadway, the Tour at NBC Studios, Soho, and of course you can't forget Times Square! There are so many more great places to see and things to do. Make sure you have a list of your own places you want to see so you can start checking things off as soon as you arrive downtown.
Lastly, you shouldn't be allowed to leave this city without having a true New York City style pastrami sandwich! The best one I have tried in the city came from a casual dinning restaurant called Junior's. It is located right in the heart of Times Square.
It might seem impossible to see all of New York City in a short weekend visit, but keep your head up. Just remember to bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes, create a list of the top attractions you want to see, and try to pick a hotel located close to them. Goodluck!
